The Latest MASHIE News
- Unfortunately, our event on Wednesday at Berkhamsted was cancelled due to snow on the course with cold conditions tormenting much of the United Kingdom amid below freezing temperatures. Not ideal golfing conditions, but a slightly milder front is forecasted this week as Winter takes full form.
- However, we still enjoyed a fantastic evening event at Pitch Soho on Wednesday night in closed conditions unaffected by the snow and cold.
- Our VIPs also had the chance to test the very latest PXG equipment at the PXG HQ in London ahead of the new year. The perfect time to get your hands on some new equipment in preparation for next season.
- We’re also excited to announce a new partnership with UK-based clothing company Weird Fish! Members now receive 20% off all online orders and purchases in participating stores. Members can find your exclusive discount code in the app.

PGA Tour
Sami Valimaki became the first man from Finland to win on the PGA Tour with his victory at the RSM Classic. The event on St. Simons Island concluded the fall series on the circuit to close the curtain on 2025. The Finn posted a final round 66 on the Sea Island track in Georgia to outlast Max McGreevy by one shot. A burly Scandinavian, Valimaki led from the front on Sunday after holding the overnight 54-hole advantage and closed the door with a two putt birdie on the par-five 15th, before holing a crucial par putt on the following hole from just shy of 20 feet. The triumph moves Valimaki up to 51st in the FedEx Cup fall (autumn) rankings. The 27-year-old from Nokia had previously won on the DP World Tour, most notably, the Qatar Masters in 2023, but this breakthrough in the States could be a jumpstart to PGA Tour security. Sami originally earned his PGA Tour card through the DP World tour feeder system in 2024 whereby the top ten not already exempt in the Race to Dubai receive places for the following campaign in the USA. He becomes the latest beneficiary of the implemented pathway of DP World Tour accomplishers to go on to win on the vaunted PGA Tour.
The RSM was the final full field event of the calendar year, with the Hero World Challenge taking place from the 4th-7th of December at Albany Golf Club, whereby only around 20-25 top players make up the field.
DP World Tour
After a break this week following the Tour Championship in Dubai last weekend, the DP World Tour returns down under for the BMW Australian PGA Championship. Held at Royal Queensland Golf Club, the event is unsurprisingly attracting a plethora of well-known Aussies, but a handful of LIV stars are also competing in Brisbane. Top names include Min Woo Lee, Adam Scott and Cam Smith on home turf. Eddie Peperrel is also playing after his heroic Q school performance recently to earn back his card. The LIV segment consists of the likes of Abraham Ancer, Joaquin Niemann and Carlos Ortiz.
The truncated Australian swing as we enter December rolls into Royal Melbourne next week, where Rory McIlroy headlines the field in the Crown Australian Open. This tournament coincides with the Nedbank, held in honour of Gary Player in Sun City, South Africa.
LPGA Tour
Jeeno Thitikul secured back-to-back CME Group Tour Championship titles with a convincing four stroke win at Tiburon Golf Course in Florida. The 22-year-old from Thailand shot a four-under-par final round to coast to victory and win her second consecutive Tour Championship on the LPGA Tour to round off 2025. Jeeno takes home the $4 million first place prize with her 7th career win on the ladies circuit. The young talent has yet to breakthrough in the majors, despite nine top tens in just 27 starts. But the ceiling of her game is incredibly high, and it is seemingly only a matter of time before she gets it done on the big stage. Thitikul bookended her season with a third LPGA victory of 2025, as she cements her place as the World Number One in women’s golf.
Royal Portrush Open Garners Economic Growth in Northern Ireland
The 2025 Open Championship in Dunluce attracted the most fans ever at an Open outside of St. Andrews with 278,00 traversing the grounds throughout the week. It was also the biggest sporting event ever in Northern Ireland, surpassing the 2019 Open where Shane Lowry triumphed on home soil. Additionally, more than half of the fans that attended the Open this year were from outside the host country. This generated a total financial impact of £89.2 million to Northern Ireland, spotlighting how integral the Championship is to its surrounding communities, particularly in an area somewhat deprived of big sporting events and year-round tourism.
